Guest Friendly Hotels Hanoi

The best guest friendly hotels in Hanoi are located close to Hanoi nightlife: Old Quarter – Hoan Kiem Lake area. Government regulations forbid Vietnamese girls to stay overnight with foreigners and most (high-end) hotels follow this rule strictly. Below are some exceptions.

Please note that I try to post mostly firsthand information, but I don’t travel often to Hanoi. I’ve stayed in all the top hotels below, but the other hotel information is from friends and blog visitors.

I added a lot of firsthand information about Ho Chi Minh, as there are many more options for having fun. The Hanoi area is one of the best in SE Asia to enjoy the city and the local food and probably the worst to find girls for fun. My best advice is to not bother with girls and take some day trips. However, you have two best options to have fun:

• Online dating sites

Unlike most other places, Tinder works best in Hanoi, but you can also use other apps like Line, WeChat, and Zalo. Many working girls offer their services there.

• Happy massages and spa

There are many places in Hanoi but don’t expect much. Most of the time, the BJ is HJ, and there are not many skilled girls. The price in most places is 400-700 VND and the tip is not included. If you are on a short visit and don’t have time to waste, just book a nice hotel, whether it’s guest friendly or not, and go to services like  Neko Massage (choose the English version). It’s not cheap, but their rates are clearly stated and hassle-free.

When in Hanoi, I usually stay at Le Foyer Hotel Hanoi, a 3-star hotel in the heart of the Old Quarter and close to nightlife. Hanoi is still not a place for crazy parties, but a lot has changed. Many bars stay open until late in the Ta Hien Street area, and I saw a lot of freelancers there. Moto guys all over the Old Quarter late at night offer girls. They also know guest friendly ST places. Hanoi is a safe city, so no worries.

Guest friendly hotels Hanoi 2024 update: The city has been completely cleaned up after Typhoon Yagi, and everything is back to normal. I added two more excellent options: The Light Hotel and Hotel A25.

Top guest friendly hotels Hanoi

All the top guest friendly hotels in Hanoi are located in the heart of the Old Quarter, close to many bars (bar street), restaurants and sights.

Le Foyer Hotel Hanoi *** $32+

I stayed there three times. It is an excellent location in the Old Quarter, a few minutes’ walk from the bars. The recently renovated rooms are very good, and there is free Wi-Fi.

The Light Hotel **** $83+

This newly renovated hotel is in a great location in the Old Quarter. It has good-sized rooms and big, comfortable beds. The breakfast is very good. The highlight of the hotel is its nice rooftop swimming pool. Bringing guests is no problem.

Guest friendly policy: “We need her ID (Official Document) upon checking in and during her stay at our hotel and you will be responsible for her in any unexpected situation.”

A25 Hotel – 61 Luong Ngoc Quyen *** $29+

A25 Hotel is a great budget option for a guest friendly hotel in Hanoi. It has an unbeatable location in the heart of the Old Quarter, with many bars nearby. Although it’s an old building, the hotel is clean and has excellent management. It also offers a great complimentary breakfast for cheap accommodation. You can bring girls with no questions asked.

Aira Boutique Hanoi Hotel and Spa **** $89+

Update 2022: When I stayed there a few years ago, it was Essence Hanoi Hotel & Spa. Now it’s AIRA Boutique Hanoi Hotel & Spa and I don’t know if it’s still guest friendly.

I stayed there once. It is in an excellent location in the heart of the Old Quarter, with many bars and restaurants at your doorstep. The rooms are clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and good air conditioning. The bathrooms are good, with showers with great pressure and hot water. There is a complimentary laptop and free Wi-Fi. The staff is incredibly attentive.

Hanoi La Palm Premier Hotel & Spa *** $49+

Update 2024: Golden Sun Suites is now Hanoi La Palm Premier Hotel. It is in a very good location in the Old Quarter, close to many bars, eating places, and Hoan Kiem Lake. The rooms are large and modern, with very comfortable beds, huge bathrooms, and nice showers with good pressure and hot water. The breakfast is excellent, and the staff is friendly. The staff can arrange efficient airport transfers.
