Guest friendly hotels Patong general information: All the information below is firsthand from my trips to Patong. I visit many hotels every year, speak to staff/owners, and take new picture.
All the best guest friendly hotels Patong below are located within walking distance to Bangla Road, the center of Phuket’s nightlife and Patong Beach. Many hotels in Patong are not guest friendly. Some hotels charge a high joiner fee or have a strict “no guests allowed” policy. The location is also very important in Patong. There is a tuk tuk mafia and the tuk tuks charge 200 or more baht even for a short distance. To avoid disappointment, follow the two golden rules:
- Always book a room for two people.
- Make sure your guest has an ID.

Guest friendly hotels Patong important updates from previous years.
I loved my stay at The Lokal Hotel Phuket last year, and it’s now one of my top choices for staying in Patong.
In the last few years, I had great stays at the Holiday Inn Resort Phuket and The Lantern Resort Patong. I added a cheap Beach Road hotel option below, Tiras Patong Beach Hotel.
Swissotel Resort Phuket Patong Beach is permanently closed but I found another 5-star guest friendly hotel in Patong close to Bangla Road – Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong. The Gig Hotel is joiner friendly and it’s now on my best guest friendly hotels Patong list.
Another great finding is one of the few 4-star guest friendly hotels in Patong: Anona Beachfront Phuket Resort. Bringing visitors is no problem if there are no more than two people in the room. They charge 950 baht for a third person.
@White Patong is now Amici Miei hotel and it’s guest friendly. Some of the hotels below are temporarily closed, but there are still plenty of options. See more pics and hotel information on my guest friendly hotels Phuket post.
R Mar Resort is not guest friendly anymore. Now they charge 500 baht per visitor. Most 5- and 4-star hotels in Patong are not guest friendly. They don’t allow visitors or charge high joiner fees: 1000-2000+ baht. The Royal Paradise Hotel is not guest friendly anymore.

Cheap and mid-range guest friendly hotels Patong
1. The Yorkshire Hotel *** $49+
Pros: I stayed twice at The Yorkshire Hotel. It is in an excellent location right opposite the Bangla road and nightlife, a five-minute walk to the beach, and Jungceylon shopping mall is just around the corner. ATMs and money exchanges nearby. The deluxe rooms are excellent – newly renovated, big, clean, and nicely decorated with a safe, LCD TV, desk and sofa. I like the big and comfy beds. The air conditioning is excellent and quiet, and the Wi-Fi has a good speed. Small balconies.
The hotel has some of the friendliest staff and managers in Patong. Yorkshire has probably the best outdoor swimming pool from all guest friendly hotels in Patong and a great sauna. Superb restaurant with great food. Fully equipped gym.
Cons: Standard rooms are too small. Some rooms at the front can be noisy. Food prices are a bit high.
Tip: Book a deluxe room at the back. They are excellent and quiet. Try the full English breakfast.
2. The Lantern Resort Patong **** $89+
Pros: It’s only a few minutes walk to Bangla but not directly on Soi Sansabai and the rooms are quiet. I booked a huge luxury one-bedroom apartment and it was really spacious. They have separate bedrooms and living rooms with huge couches, extra tables and chairs, flat-screen TVs, a kitchen with a microwave, coffee/tea-making facilities and an in-room safe. The aircon is efficient and very quiet, perfect for light sleepers. The bathroom is large, with a rain shower and a separate toilet.
The rooftop pool is small but quiet and clean. There is also another swimming pool in the next building.
Cons: They have rooms with balconies but my one-bedroom apartment didn’t have any. The Lantern Resort is a guest friendly hotel but they charge a huge joiner fee of 1000 baht if you bring two visitors at a time.
Tip: Ask for a room that does not face the main road as they are very quiet.
3. The Gig Hotel **** $52+
Pros: The Gig Hotel Patong is guest friendly. It has a very quiet location but is only a three-minute walk to Bangla. Please note that Google Maps shows the wrong location. It’s not right on Soi Sansabai but at the back on Sansabai Soi 1, so it’s really very quiet.
The rooms are good-sized with fast and free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and sofas. The bathrooms are clean with nice showers. Moreover, the hotel has an excellent rooftop area with an infinity pool and gym. The pool staff are very friendly.
Cons: The beds are Asian standard, so not very soft. No iron in the room.
Tip: Every room has a balcony but book a room on a higher floor for a nice sea view.
4. The Lokal Hotel Phuket *** $32+
Pros: It’s the former K-Hotel and I love this place. It’s a green oasis in the heart of crazy Patong. The rooms are fresh and new with big comfortable beds and silent aircons. There are in-room safes, coffee/tea-making facilities, LCD TVs, and two free bottles of water daily. The bathrooms are big with separate showers and toilets. Most balconies are big with a garden view.
It’s one of the few guest friendly hotels in Patong near Bangla Road with a decent swimming pool. The staff and security guards are extremely friendly and polite.
Cons: The bathrooms don’t have rain showers and some rooms are noisy till late.
Tip: Book a room facing the pool as they are very quiet at night.
5. C&N Hotel *** $36+
Pros: C&N hotel has a very good location on a quiet soi opposite Bangla Road. Moreover, it’s only a five-minute walk to the beach. It has clean rooms with good aircons, nice bathrooms, a flat TV, desk, in-room safes and excellent Wi-Fi. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Cons: The hotel is very nice but sadly there is no swimming pool or gym. Some rooms facing the main road can be noisy.
Tip: Book a room at the back to avoid the street noise.
6. Summer Breeze Hotel *** $43+
Pros: Summer Breeze Hotel is one of my favorite hotels and one of the best guest friendly hotels in Patong. I stayed there a few times. It is a top hotel and great value for money. It is a two-minute walk to Bangla Road and beer bars and ten minutes to the beach.
Big and clean rooms with comfortable beds, desks and sitting areas. Clean bathrooms and showers with hot water and good water pressure. The air conditioner works really well. Free Wi-Fi. In-room safe, mini bar and LCD TV. Delicious food at the restaurant and an excellent breakfast. Accommodating staff and friendly owner. The staff clean the rooms quickly when you leave the room.
Cons: No lift and no swimming pool.
Tip: No lift, so avoid the higher floors. The staff speak good English and know everything in the area. They can help you with the activities you like. The hotel offers same-day laundry service. You can rent a motorbike directly from the hotel and avoid scams.
7. Tropica Bungalow Hotel *** $48+
Pros: Tropica Bungalow is in an unbeatable location next to Bangla Road, and Patong Beach is across the street. You have a lot of privacy with your guests, as you don’t need to pass through the reception to go to your room.
I stayed in their standard rooms, which are good-priced if booked in advance and have all necessities provided. They have large beds, flat-screen TVs, free daily water, an in-room safe, an umbrella, and a hairdryer. The small fridge is full of beer. There are many trees and flowers everywhere. The pool is big and clean.
Cons: The location next to Bangla is for night owls and partygoers. The music is loud from 8 p.m. until early morning. However, the hotel is quiet until evening. The standard room bathrooms are not separated from the toilets, so expect a wet floor.
Tip: Pay more and book a superior or deluxe room/bungalow. These are surrounded by trees and have huge terraces, separate bathrooms and toilets, and huge seating areas. The best exchange booth in Patong is right next to the hotel.
8. Patong Hemingway’s Hotel *** $34+
Update 2025: The hotel is reopened after being temporarily closed.
Pros: I stayed once at Patong Hemingway’s hotel. It is a guest friendly hotel centrally located in the heart of Patong. Everything is within walking distance, so there is no need to use the overpriced tuk-tuks. Bangla Road nightlife, Jungceylon shopping mall, and the beach are just a few minutes’ walk away, but they are far enough from the noise. There are plenty of eating places nearby.
Spacious and clean rooms with large bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, LCD TV, cold minibar, and safe. Good air conditioning and a hot shower with good pressure. Nice rooftop pool and bar. The downstairs restaurant has a great range of Thai and Western food and drinks at very reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Limited parking place.
Tip: Three hotels have very similar names. Check the hotel name and the location in advance. Great city view from the rooftop bar.
9. Orchid Resortel *** $47+
Pros: Orchid resortel has a very good location, only a few minutes walk to bars and not far from the beach. The hotel has standard, superior and deluxe rooms. Superior and deluxe rooms have nice beds, balconies, desks and couches. Deluxe rooms have probably some of the best bathrooms I’ve seen in Patong for a mid-range hotel. They are very clean with a bathtub and two showers with hot water. Superior rooms are good enough if you don’t need a bathtub and a second shower. The wi-fi is good. All the rooms at the back are very quiet. The rooftop area is nice with a bar and a swimming pool.
Cons: Rooms on the lower floors facing the street can be noisy. Some standard rooms don’t have windows. The swimming pool is small.
Tip: Book a room on a higher floor at the back for a quiet sleep. Nice view of the hills from the rooftop pool and bar.
0. Tiras Patong Beach Hotel *** $32+
Pros: It’s probably the best cheap guest friendly hotel on the beach road. The beach is right across the road and only a five-minute walk to Bangla Road and nightlife. It’s a basic hotel but everything looks new.
Superior rooms are small, and the view is the wall of the next building but deluxe rooms are great. They are spacious and top-floor rooms have good-sized balconies with a partial sea view. The beds are a bit hard but the pillows are good. Everything needed is provided – efficient and quiet aircon, flat screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities and in-room safe. Separate bathroom and toilet and they are spotless. No rain shower but good water pressure and hot water. The staff are nice and friendly.
Cons: The hotel has four floors and no elevator. At the hotel entrance, there is a small market area with friendly but pushy vendors.
Tip: Book a top-floor deluxe room for a nice view and extra space.
Luxury guest friendly hotels Patong
A. Holiday Inn Resort Phuket **** $116+
Pros: Holiday Inn Resort is the best luxury guest friendly accommodation in Patong. It’s probably not the best location for Bangla; it’s a twelve-minute walk to go there, but everything else is very close. Three-minute walk to the Otop beer bar area and Hooters and Hard Rock Cafe are right across the street. The side entrance to Beach Road is great for your overnight guests but you can also register them free of charge at the reception.
King bed premium pool view rooms are excellent. They have a nice bed, a big flat-screen TV, a sitting area with a sofa and table, an in-room safe, coffee/tea-making facilities, and balconies with a magnificent view of the pool. The aircon system is efficient; you get three keycards per room to keep it cool. The swimming pool is really huge, warm and very clean. Bathrooms and toilets are separate and clean. The rain shower is really nice with hot water and good water pressure. Fantastic staff service.
Cons: 12-minute walk to Bangla.
Tip: Most people prefer to pay by card for their drinks by the pool. If you pay cash and give tips, you can get even friendlier and quicker service.
B. BYD Lofts Boutique Hotel & Serviced Apartment **** $123+
Number 0 on the map.
Pros: It’s hard to find a luxury guest friendly hotel in Patong within walking distance of Bangla Road. One of the few exceptions is BYD Lofts Boutique Hotel. The hotel has only four stars, but it’s more like a 5-star hotel. It’s not cheap, but you really get what you pay for. The hotel is located far enough away from the noise of the nightlife but only a fifteen-minute walk from Bangla Road. It’s a five-minute walk to Patong Beach.
Very comfortable, modern, spotlessly clean, and well-furnished apartments with huge and comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchens and large balconies. Beautiful bathrooms with powerful walk-in showers. Fridge, coffee machine, safe, DVD player, smart TVs, fast and free wi-fi. Nice rooftop pool. Great breakfast. Polite and friendly staff and owner.
Cons: No gym
Tip: All apartments are great. Try the in-room oil massage. Gyms, pharmacies, tailors, laundries, massage places, and 7/11 stores are all within a two-minute walk.
Bonus hotel:
Aspery Hotel *** $22+
I removed the hotel from the top 12 guest friendly hotels Patong list as it is a bit far from Bangla Road (a 10-minute walk).
Pros: The hotel is very guest friendly. You can bring as many girls as you want free of charge. Two girls at the same time, no problem! It is located on a quiet soi. It is less than five minutes walk to the beach. Nice, clean rooms with new furniture, clean bathrooms, air conditioning, LED TV, in-room safe, and excellent wi-fi. Nice rooftop pool. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: 10-minute walk to Bangla road
