What’s new in 2026?
Except for the small bar fine increase, the prices and going rates are similar to what I paid last year. Moreover, it’s a buyer’s market; there are more girls than customers even in the high season.
The lady drink prices in most girly bars in Phnom Penh are $4,50-$5. A few places still charge $4, while others charge $5.50 or more. Special lady drinks start from $6. More and more bars charge a $20 barfine, regardless of the day of the week. However, some still kept the $15 price during the weekdays. Some bars offer discounts after midnight. A few bars have higher weekend bar fines of $20-$25, especially for dancers, and I’ve even seen $30 in one place. In some bars, you have to buy a few lady drinks before they let you barfine a girl.
A significantly higher percentage of girls go with customers. The Phnom Penh bar girls going rates are similar to last year (see below).
Since Cyrcee is permanently closed, Sona Horny Secret is the only bar with ST rooms. However, some places offer short-time rooms for $10: Floozys on St. 172, Happiness Guesthouse on St. 51, and Lucky Ro on St. 110. In some VIP rooms inside the bars can get wild, too.
Darlin Darlin is open again but with more Chinese music.

As I mentioned a few years ago, the former Sorya Mall, Pub Street has been demolished, but Pontoon is still there.
Phnom Penh bar girls tips
- Find a guest (bar girl) friendly hotel in Phnom Penh
Before you come to Phnom Penh, make sure your hotel is guest (bar girl) friendly. In Pattaya and Patong, many hotels charge joiner fees. Most hotels in Phnom Penh either allow or do not allow bar girls to stay with you in your hotel room. See my guest friendly hotels Phnom Penh list.
- Where to stay in Phnom Penh?
The best area to stay is close to Riverside between Street 110 and Street 154, as most hostess bars, Phnom Penh bar girls, and freelancers are there. There are also a few excellent value for money new hotels near the bars on Street 104. Street 51 still has some nice places, but it is not like it used to be, so I would avoid staying there anymore. Many hotels and guesthouses are located close to these streets.
All main bar streets are within walking distance but you can also use the cheap tuk tuks for up to $2 or motorbikes for $1. There are also more hostess bars near the main bar areas or between them. Another good area to stay is Street 172, with nice, cheap hotels and restaurants, not far from the action. Street 172 already has some hostess bars, too.
- Phnom Penh beer bars
Most beer bars in Phnom Penh are small (around 10-15 bar girls), with few exceptions. Street 136 has the most beer bars and bar girls, but they are the most expensive, and some are oriented mostly to Chinese customers. However, these bars have some of the most beautiful girls, and some of them, like Xanadu, Step Wife bar, and Alaska, still make Westerners feel welcome. Charlie Chan’s bar, the former Secrets, is the biggest beer bar in Phnom Penh, with many friendly girls and dancers, but it is more expensive.
Street 130 has some of the best-managed bars in Phnom Penh and is definitely worth a visit. There are many clean places with friendly owners, and the girls are not pushy—Loco Bar, Angry Birds, Pour Hub, and many more. Butterfly bar is one of the few very hands-on places with a great owner and almost a Pattaya Gentlemen’s club experience on some wild nights. Sadly, One Three Six bar no longer has live music, but it’s still a good place to visit.
Street 118 is worth a visit. There are some good old and new, well-managed girly bars, like Baccara and White Cats. Baccara has very friendly service and expat owners. Croco on the same street is like a nightclub with sexy dancers and working girls.
Katrit Same Same bar on St. 110 is a very good place with friendly service.
Airforce on Street 104 is still one of the biggest beer bars in Phnom Penh – there are around 30 girls on an average night, with some cuties. Oscar bar on the same street has a second floor with a big stage, live music, and some freelancers. Eagle bar is the other (in)famous hands-on bar besides Butterfly on Street 130, worth visiting. BJ inside the bar is not uncommon there.
Street 172 has many new bars, with Hollywood Bar being the highlight. It features sexy dancers and hostesses and is open 24/7. The owner is a friendly American. Night Kla is another good bar on this street with nice girls and a pole dancer.
If you are looking for a laid-back bar that opens early, with no pressure and plenty of nice girls, try Shanghai Bar on Street 51. The bar has a new owner, but he is a nice guy, too. Sadly, many girls there don’t go with customers, but they are friendly, and you can have a lot of fun.
Some hostess bars are located on Street 5 between Street 110 and Street 118, and many, although smaller, have cheaper lady drinks and beautiful girls.
These days, more and more bars have VIP rooms. Some are free, and others require bottles or a minimum drink purchase.
- How to take a bar girl out of the bar?
When you enter the bar, the bar girls will approach you and ask you for a drink. The Phnom Penh bar girls are not as pushy as their Pattaya sisters, but not all girls go with customers! Try to find out early if the girl will go with you before you buy her a lot of lady drinks. Most bar girls drink real alcohol, not 50 ml. of juice like in Pattaya. Pay the bar fine ($15-$20) when you find your girl, and take her with you.
- Phnom Penh bar girls prices (going rates)
Negotiating the price in advance would be good, but it’s not as important as in Pattaya. In many cases, the price is “up to you”. The going rates are similar to previous years. It isn’t easy to find a bar girl for $30 anymore. The fair price is $50-$60 ST (short time) and $60-80 LT (for the whole night). If the girl likes you and you have good bargaining skills, $40 ST and $50 LT is still possible. Some girls will try to ask for $100+; do not overpay! They’ll be happy with $50-$80.
- Phnom Penh freelancers
Street 51 is the best place to find freelancers in Phnom Penh, but it is not like it used to be. Pub Street, the former Sorya Mall, has been demolished, and many bars and girls are gone. However, there are some good options, like the Pontoon disco on Street 51 after 11 p.m. Many freelancers in Pontoon try to charge more than their sisters in the beer/hostess bars. The asking price is already $50+, and it is almost impossible to find girls for less.
There is also one excellent new place, the Home Food restaurant, opposite the Shanghai bar. Many girls have been looking for customers there since the early afternoon. However, choose wisely as there are some drug addicts.
Other venues with some freelancers are HClub ner Bassac Lane and Score Bar (BKK1). Love club has mostly young backpackers, but also some freelancers.
Upper-scale places like Darlin Darlin Music Lounge in Naga World have high-class girls, locals and Vietnamese, but prepare to pay much more. Their target are rich Chinese customers and high rollers. The freelancers in Darlin Darlin are asking for crazy money now: $150 and even $200-$300 for their services, or $50 just to sit with you. However, you can meet some of them late at night in Pontoon and pay as little as $80.
There is a new hotel and bar called Floozys on Street 172. They try to reintroduce the business model of the now-nonexistent Walkabout bar. They are freelancer-friendly, with no bar fines, but unlike Walkabout, you have to pay $4 for their drinks.
The freelancers around Wat Phnom at night are cheaper, but the area can be dangerous after dark.
Tip: You can talk to a bar girl to meet her before/after work and take her phone or messenger. It would be cheaper, and you could avoid the bar fine. Most girls use Facebook Messenger, Line, and Telegram. You can also use Tinder to find freelancers, but be careful with the ladyboys, as many try to hide their gender.
- Phnom Penh massages with extras
If you are used to the great Pattaya service, you’ll find the Phnom Penh massages with extras overpriced and below average. My best advice is to go to a reputable, genuine massage place and find a bar girl or freelancer later. However, there are some options for happy massages.
EzSpa is a great app for in-home and hotel massages. The massage can be normal or with extras. For extras, expect to pay $20 for HJ and $50+ for FS, in addition to the massage price.
Lux Riverside Hotel and Apartment has massages for $10, and the girls offer extras, but you can’t choose the masseuse.
You can get extras in Getaway Spa on St. 130, but not from all girls, and you have to mention it in advance.
Sky Massage on St. 398 offers Nuru massage, and a full service with a beautiful Vietnamese girl costs $120. There are sky massages on other streets, too, but they are different.
Sm Steam and Massages is another place for massage with extras, $70 FS.
The massage at Angkor Mitona Guesthouse can finish with HJ for $10.
Avoid massages with extras advertised for $5. They are all over the party areas, look similar, and are a total scam. When you get the massage, other people swap the dollar bills in your wallet with fake ones.
