Guest friendly hotels Sihanoukville 2024 update
Sihanoukville is no longer a huge construction site but a concrete jungle now. A lot of hotels, resorts, and casinos have been built. I still don’t think that it’s worth a visit. Many Chinese KTVs are open to cater to Chinese visitors, and many beer bars and whole bar areas are being sold to Chinese investors.
Phnom Penh is much better value for money and much more fun. However, if you visit Sihanoukville, several bars on Victory Hill and a few more on Serendipity Beach still exist. The girls ask for $100, and the best western-oriented bar on Victory Hill is The Whisky Exchange.
Recently, I found two excellent, guest friendly hotels in Sihanoukville: Siha Treasure Hotel and Star Bay Residence. See more information below.
Tip: If you want a beach holiday with girls, avoid Sihanoukville and visit Kampot. Kampot now has more than twenty girly bars, and the seaside town of Kep is only a thirty-minute tuk-tuk drive away. You can also take a boat to an even better beach on Koh Tonsay Island.

Top guest friendly hotels Sihanoukville
Siha Treasure Hotel *** $46+
Siha Treasure Hotel is one of the newest and best mid-range guest friendly hotels in Sihanoukville. The bars on Victory Hill are within fifteen minutes walk. The rooms are large, clean and modern. They have big LCD TVs with Netflix and separate bathrooms and toilets. Sadly, there is no swimming pool but the hotel has a nice rooftop bar and a gym.
Guest-friendly policy: “Yes, you can bring visitors, but you must be responsible.”
Star Bay Residence *** $41+
Star Bay Residence is a new accommodation located only a few hundred meters from Sokha Beach. All rooms are large, with comfortable beds, smart TVs, and balconies with a nice city view. There are also sofas and electric kettles. The free Wi-Fi is not very fast. The place has a pool and gym.
Guest friendly policy: “Hello, You can bring friends to your room, yes; best regards.”
Coolabah Hotel *** $34+
It’s a top guest-friendly hotel in Sihanoukville. I stayed there twice. The hotel is ideally located in the center of the city. It’s a five-minute walk to the beach and two minutes to nightlife, beer bars, restaurants, and shops. The clean and well-furnished rooms have good air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and comfortable beds. Choose the first floor; ground-floor rooms can be noisy. There’s a nice swimming pool. Excellent restaurant—try the seafood platter! Helpful staff and friendly Australian owners.
Golden Sand Hotel *** $31+
It’s not a brand-new hotel, but it is clean and affordable. Excellent location. Dozens of bars and restaurants are within walking distance. Less than a five-minute walk to the beach: large and clean rooms, fridge, and highly effective and quiet aircon. Book a room on a higher floor for a nice view. Large pool and pleasant pool area. There is great Wi-Fi everywhere in the hotel.
